If you’re learning Welsh, it can sometimes be difficult to know where to find books you enjoy that are at the right level for you.

The Amdani series is a great place to start, with over 40 books written or adapted especially for learners. The series include short stories, rom-coms, thrillers and factual books written by some of Wales’ most popular authors.

To help you find the right book for you and move to the next level with confidence, the series is graded at four levels for learners (Entry, Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced) and has been developed in partnership with the National Centre for Learning Welsh.

Here are some of the most recent titles:

  • Entry: Rhywun yn y Tŷ? by Pegi Talfryn
  • Foundation: Y Fawr a’r Fach 2 by Sion Tomos Owen
  • Intermediate: Hen Ferchetan by Ewan Smith
  • Advanced: Hanna by Rhian Cadwaladr

The books are available from bookshops or to borrow from your local library. They are also available as e-books and audiobooks from Ffolio.cymru. Your order from Ffolio can support an independent bookshop of your choice in Wales. When placing your order remember to choose a bookshop in Wales to receive a commission from your purchase.
